Platinum Performance has an innovative professional Staff that is well trained with many years of teaching experience. Many of our teachers can be seen working within the public and private schools and various other prestigious dance schools throughout Long Island. All Platinum Performance instructors are professional choreographers holding many degrees, certifications and awards.

Director: Ms Lora Ayala

Director, Lora Ayala was awarded her B.A. in Child Study with a minor in Dance by Saint Joseph's College. This year under her Direction, the Studio was awrded one of the highest honors of "2007 Top Studio" by Kids Artistic Revue.


Her performance/choreography includes:

  • Regional and National Judge for Dance Arts Plus Dance Competition.
  • Coach/choreographer for the Regional and National award winning Huntington High School Highsteppers & Dance Team.
  • Featured Performer in the opening ceremonies for the 2005 US OPEN
  • Principal Dancer for the DHTW Modern Dance Company -2005
  • Regional Delegate for National Dance Week
  • Choreographer/Performer at The Nautical Mile’s Festival of Lights
  • Olympic Miss Dance National Judge
  • AFL NJ Gladiators Cheerleading & Dance Teams
  • AFL NY Dragons Cheerleading & Dance Teams
  • Background dancer for the popular music group, 98 Degrees
  • Background Dancer for the popular music group The Venga Boys
  • Choreographer for the 2002 Grand National Champions at Walt Disney World

derya.jpgDeyra Johnson (Adv Ballet, Pointe and Company Ballet)
Derya Johnson has taught Ballet at Manhattan’s very own STEPS on Broadway (NY), and the very prestigious Inspirations Dance Academy (NY), as well as the Istanbul State Conservatory in Turkey. She has performed at the Istanbul State Opera House and Ballet Theatre in many Classical Ballets including “Giselle” from the Ballet Sleeping Beauty. Derya has also been featured in various Dance Books and magazines and has studied dance at various Ballet conservatories including the esteemed Royal Academy of Dance in England.



kati.jpgKati-Ann Ashworth (Modern, Jazz, Tap)
Ms Kati has a BFA in Dance from C.W. Post College and was the recipient of the Post Concert Dance Company “Outstanding Senior” Scholarship. This year at competition, Ms Kati was awarded "MOST ENTERTAINING ACT" by Kids Artistic Revue. She has performed and choreographed at the American College Dance Festival, and currently performs with the New York based Immersion Dance Company. She has had the privilege to work with great performers and choreographers such as Merle Hollaman, Raphael Boumalia and Kanji Segawa of the Mark Morris Dance Company. Not only is Ms Kati a qualified dancer, but she is also a Graduate of the Dance Educators Dance Teacher Training Course.

christine.jpgChristine D’Aquila (Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Jazz, Company)
Miss Christine a former competitive dancer and gymnast and cheers with the Hofstra University Cheerleading team. In 2006 and 2007 Ms Christine and the Hofstra Cheerleading team won first place at Nationals in Disney World Florida. This year at competition one of Miss Christine's soloist won OVERALL HIGHEST SCORING SOLOIST at Hall of Fame Dance Challenge. As an individual gymnast she has won numerous awards including 1st place at the state quarter finals for her beam routine. As a dancer she has won numerous awards including Reserve National Champion at the Contest of Champions in Florida. She has performed at Madison Square Garden,  Disney World Florida, Wildwood New Jersey and TV pilots. In addition to teaching at Platinum Performance she is also the Advanced Ballet teacher at Broadway Stage Door Dance Studio in Bethpage. This year Miss Christine starting working with the Cold Spring Harbor Cheerleading Team.


Nicole Ohr (Tap)
Miss Nicole is a former competitive dancer, dancing for local studios and the Long Island Xtreme Dance Team. As a professional and competitive dancer she has danced all over Long Island, Atlantic City, Hershey Park and Disney World. She was also part of the Starpower PowerPact along with NDS Star Champions, a WSF National Champion and an American Cheer Power High Point Grand Champion. This summer Ms Nicole assisted and interned at the NYC Tap Festival where she took classes with Chloe Arnold, Domeisha Edwards and Billie Mahoney. She has also trained with Lance Westergard, Robin Becker, Anita Feldman, Olivia Rosenkrantz, Rachel List, Maxine Steinman, Stormy Brandenberg, Diane Litchtenstein and the Amy Marshall Dance Company and is currently a Dance and Psychology major at Hofstra University.


Danielle D'Aquila (Cheerleading, Acrobatics, Tap, Hip and Jazz)
A former competitive dancer and gumnast is currently cheering with the two time National Champion Hofstra University Cheerleading Team. As a dancer and a gymnast she has won numerous awards and has performed at Madison Square Garden, Disney World Florida, Wildwood New Jersey and on TV pilots.

Miss Samantha  (Tap)

Jessica Treubig
(Substitute & Guest Teacher)
Jessica (a long time former student of Ms Lora) is currently a dance major at the University of Massachussetts at Amherst. She has studied with companies such as Paul Taylor, Alvin Ailey, Eglevsky Ballet and worked with Top choreographers like Christopher Scott (Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk) She has performed in Disney World and has won numerous Platinum, Diamond and High Score awards with her competitive solos. Jessica has performed in NYC with Fox Kids Worlwide and various other film work including "Gimme A Shot" Tv Pilot. PPDA thanks Jessica for spending her time dancing with us whenever she is home from college.
